Welcome to our site! We have chosen to host our site with sourceforge.net, which provides us with everything we need, from CVS to forums and mailing lists.

Our project of choice is the deadline negotiation tool, which would allow students at the University of Western Australia to request for tutorial extensions online, and automate the approval or rejection of such requests. This would relieve lecturers from the repetitive and time consuming task of having to sort through it manually, and deal only with cases that merit individual attention.

There are two basic prerequisites the project must fulfil:

• It must be platform neutral
• It must not use proprietary code and / or software

As such, our language of choice is java, to be deployed as a servlet on Jakarta Tomcat 4.0, running on RedHat Linux 7.2. The wide availability of the reference java server implementation on various platforms ensures the portability of our project.
